As the Planning Development and Infrastructure Act 2016 is finding it’s stride now, more than ever, it is important to be aware of and keep up to date with relevant court decisions. South Australia is a common law jurisdiction, with judges and courts making laws. Court decisions have the potential to alter procedural matters or to shed new light on the interpretation of legislation and planning policy.

Please join David Billington and Felicity Niemann as they highlight and discuss interesting and recent decisions by the ERD Court and Supreme Court relevant to planning and environment matters.

Felicity Niemann, Planning & Environment, Partner, Wallmans Lawyers

Felicity has comprehensive experience as a specialist planning and environment lawyer who provides practical and straightforward advice. Felicity regularly represents both private and public sector clients on a variety of matters including planning appeals, judicial review, civil proceedings and prosecutions.

David Billington - Barrister, Howard Zelling Chambers

David is the go-to junior counsel in South Australia in two areas of the law: first, planning and development; and second, native title. In those areas David handles cases of all complexity levels with a smile (not pictured).

David also has considerable strata title, local government, licensing, construction, land acquisition, and Aboriginal heritage experience.

Fortuitously, David also has a strong practice in criminal assets confiscation and international extradition.

David has seen the law from all angles: as a judge’s associate in the Supreme Court, as a partner in a major law firm, and now as an independent barrister practising in almost all South Australian and Commonwealth Courts.
